Interview tips from Crocmedia

You can have the opportunity to enjoy great success by performing well in media interviews but you may only have small window of opportunity to do so. Here are some top tips from the team at Crocmedia:

1. Be prepared. Find out as much as possible about the interview including who is doing the interview. Who is the audience? What type of interview is it? What types of questions will be asked? Prepare and rehearse key messages before going on camera or radio.

2. Be presentable. First impressions count so always try to look your best. Make sure you wear appropriate clothing, keep make up simple and never wear sunglasses.

3. Be precise. Speak in a clear, friendly and enthuastic tone. Use correct enunciation and language and avoid using “um” and “ah” or “like”. Try pausing for a moment instead. It will sound better.

4. Be punctual. Be on time, it makes a good impression. TV, radio and internet have very tight deadlines.

5. Be polite. Be courteous and remember good manners. Do not offend the interviewer or audience.
