OFF THE FENCE 2008/09 - Terms and Conditions

The overwhelming success and popularity of Crocmedia’s flagship radio program Off the Bench has generated demand for a summer series.  Off the Fence will commence the week after the AFL Grand final and run for 22 weeks.

Off the Fence will follow the same format and genre as Off the Bench, the difference being that topics, discussions, and segments will centre on summer sports. Sports will be focused on at relevant periods, and surrounding key summer sporting events – eg. Spring Racing Carnival, Australian Open etc.  Off the Fence will leverage from the hype and interest in these summer sports and provide listeners with a unique and insightful perspective.

When & Where:

Off the Fence will be broadcast live from 9am – noon every Saturday morning commencing October 4th 2008. Broadcast partners include:

  • SEN-Melbourne

  • 3CS-Colac

  • 3HA-Hamilton

  • 3YB-Warrnambool

  • 2AY-Albury/Wodonga

  • 3SH-Swan Hill

  • 3WM-Wimmera District

Off the Fence will launch new segments that are guaranteed to entertain the extensive audience.  Some key segments include:

OFF THE RECORD –

The much loved Off the Record segment is one of the weekly highlights of Off the Bench.  It provides a very light-hearted account of some of the key media stories throughout the week, and analyses them from a different, but always amusing, perspective.

OFF THE BIG SCREEN

Summer holidays spell movie time for many individuals, couples and families. Off the Big Screen will provide listeners with a close look at the latest on the big screen. Our movie reviewer will join us to critique up to two flicks each week. What’s a must see…..and what’s a must miss – you’ll find out during Off the Big Screen!!

OFF THE PITCH

An Australian summer is nothing without Cricket -it is part of our culture, it is part of our summer lifestyle. Off the Pitch provides listeners with a weekly update on the Australian domestic and international cricket landscape including Pura Cup and Ford Ranger Cup competition for all 22 weeks.

This detailed segment provides listeners with the latest news in the cricketing world, interviews with key cricket identities, and behind the scenes information that you will not hear anywhere else. Anything and everything you want to know about cricket this summer, you’ll find out during Off the Pitch.

OFF THE COURT

As the name suggests, this segment is jam packed with the latest tennis news. Off the Court commences late December and through until the end of the Australian Open (6 weeks), providing listeners with a weekly look at the Open build up and then throughout the Australian Open at Melbourne Park.

Interest in tennis peaks during the Australia Open, Off the Fence will broadcast double Off the Court segments during the tournament. Off the Court provides listeners with great coverage of what’s happening on and off the court.

Golf is another favourite summer sport. Mark Allen’s weekly segment covers aspects of the Australian and international golf tours, including interviews with our leading golfers here and abroad. All the latest golf news and information will be reported in Off the Tee.

BLOKES GUIDE TO SPRING CARNIVAL

It is a journey through spring carnival.  Whilst horse racing is an important element of the Spring Racing Carnival, there is so much more…… When it comes to certain elements of the Spring Racing Carnival many men feel like fish out of water!  It will provide our male listeners with a survival guide to the Spring Carnival from fashion to parties, to tips on how to look respectable at the end of the day.  This segment is a must for all males!
